Dear Community,
Last August we launched She Se Puede with a simple and yet profoundly important mission — to build a unique and inclusive space where Latinas could leverage our power and our voices in a way that transforms our lives, families, and communities.
We know the power of our comunidad and so do you. But we also know our numbers on their own are not enough. We must build a culture that allows Latinas to see our power, to believe in our power, and to act on our power, or we will never see the full force of our potential. Our community, built by Latinas for Latinas, is changing this by creating a cultura of confidence and empowerment.
Since we launched, we’ve been thrilled and humbled by the response. Latinas from all over the country united, and together we’ve built one of the fastest growing and most influential Latina digital communities in the country.
The last few months have been both challenging and invigorating for our country and for the Latinx community, but through it all we saw the power of our community and the incredible power of every individual Latina to affect change. For us, this was never about one election cycle or one moment in time. Our aim has always been to shift la cultura, build lasting confidence, and inspire community and civic engagement among Latinas.
Right now, we are at a critical moment for our organization, our cause, and our platform, and we’re ready to take our work to the next level. That’s why we are so excited to share with all of you what our next chapter will look like.
Going forward, She Se Puede will be known as Poderistas™. The name Poderistas™ symbolizes this next chapter of our work. Nuestra comunidad is grounded in POWER and in fostering an ongoing lifestyle and mindset of power. A Poderista is a Latina who elevates, amplifies and builds Latina power through their own actions and by harnessing the power of the collective. All of you are the very definition of Poderistas™.
We will continue to offer inspiration to lift up Latinas as catalysts for change, to provide a space for joy and celebration, and to highlight the issues most impacting nuestro comunidad. We couldn’t be more excited about this next chapter and look forward to sharing more of our plans with you over the next few weeks.
To all of the Poderistas™ across the country who have helped us build this movement into the vibrant, impactful and rapidly growing community it is today, we say GRACIAS! Our hope is that each and every one of our followers continues to find enrichment and personal growth from the content our community creates. Ahora es nuestra momento to look to the future, to come together and to harness our power for good.
