Latino Heritage Month is a time to celebrate who we are and the impact our communities are making right now. At Poderistas, it is also a moment to look ahead and ask: What can we do with the power we already hold?

From October 3–11, Week of Action brings Latinas across the country together through service and civic action. Join an activation in your community, participate from home, or find your own way to show up for a cause that matters to you.

NEW YORK, NY NYC Community Canvass: Connect With Your Community
Sunday, October 4 • 11 AM–3 PM ET Join The National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic Social Workers, Inc. to connect with Latino residents in NY-13, share helpful civic resources, listen to neighbors, and help people learn more about the issues impacting their community.
 
JOIN FROM ANYWHERE Make the Call: Community Phone Bank Monday, October 5 • 3–4:30 PM PT / 6–7:30 PM ET Join The Fire House Dream from home to connect with community members across Georgia, share trusted civic information and resources, and help neighbors take their next step in civic participation.
NEWARK, NJ Voter Education Week: Connect & Inform Tuesday, October 6 • 11 AM–3 PM ET Join the Students Learn Students Vote Coalition for a Voter Education Week activation at Newark Penn Station. Share voter education resources, connect community members with helpful information, and spread the word about opportunities to serve as a poll worker.
JOIN FROM ANYWHERE Latina Equal Pay Day: Turn Awareness Into Action Thursday, October 8 Join Justice for Migrant Women (J4MW) in amplifying Latina Equal Pay Day and bringing attention to the economic realities impacting Latinas. Help raise awareness about the Latina pay gap and why economic equity matters for our communities.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT Write for Your Community: Civic Letter-Writing Night Friday, October 9 • 5:30–7 PM MT Join Mamas con Poder and Centro Cívico to put pen to paper for a purpose. Write nonpartisan letters sharing voter education resources and encouraging Latino community members to stay civically engaged.
LOS ANGELES, CA Los Angeles Community Canvass: Show Up & Connect Saturday, October 10 • 11 AM–1 PM PT Join Occidental College and CHIRLA for a community canvass across Latino neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Connect with residents, share helpful civic information, and help neighbors find resources that matter to them.
LAS VEGAS, NV Turn Plastic Into Care: Mats for the Unhoused Saturday, October 10 • 11 AM–2 PM PT Join The Mats Project to repurpose plastic bags into durable sleeping mats for people experiencing homelessness while helping reduce waste along the way.
CHICAGO, IL Chicago Marathon: Power the Water Station Sunday, October 11 • 6–7:30 PM CT Join donas.y.dons and donas.y.dons.bookclub at a Chicago Marathon water station. Help keep runners hydrated and moving while showing up for community on one of Chicago’s biggest days.
